As one who has sketched many times in clubs, this is just sad. Just sad.

A lot of hype, but I'll admit I'm very curious about this utopian project: KM3 (Book)

Perhaps because the future seems more keyed in to power and control than benevolent design, I have my doubts that "utopia" is an obtainable goal. Commercial interest and human nature being what it is...

A Robolobster, what could be next?

"Underground Robot"

Singapore Robotic Games will be starting soon.

Meanwhile, headlines as "Documents Show U.S. Spied on France" demonstrate the inexperience of the press. Of course we spy on other nations, even France. Would anyone believe that it was not likewise for the SGDN? Perhaps this is why the press is stuck on the same headline for weeks, while the world burns to the ground around them.

It's my favorite time of year.
Plum blossoms, cherry blossoms.

There was some disturbing news this morning: "Mold threatens Japanese cherry trees"

A couple political bits I have to scrape off the iceberg.

Just in case the writings on the wall weren't obvious, stories like this should cause at least a pause in the towel-snapping at the White House. China Increases Foreign Military Training. Monroe Doctrine, anyone?

Also, and I'll attempt restraint on the topic, but anything that the US "must" do in Iraq is a clear signal that things are already totally out of control. Whatever the application, good strategy almost always involves leaving options for yourself, and none for your opponent. The last thing you "must" have done, how well did it go?

I'm naturally suspicious of anything LA.com promotes, but this seems above board. Open bars in LA.

OK, I'll admit it, I've got a problem. You Tube has just been addictive. Here are a few interesting vids:

What's the neighbor bringing home? It's in two big boxes... Hey, those look like high speed railways!

Maybe now we can leverage a little jeolousy behind our own rail project.

On a lighter note, not all robots are robots... (Contestant #2)

Really don't get the whole internet suicide thing. "More than 32,000 Japanese took their own lives in 2004," according to the article - obviously these people are using the wrong search strings.

Meanwhile, robots are being used in a hospital...
Rare footage of the genius, Tom Lehrer, who can even make math catchy.

Home, home on the range... C'mon Klunky, let's a saddle up. Ya call yourself a robotic pack mule? Getta hustle!

You just gotta love robots created in the spirit of inefficiency. A mule? Perhaps the scientists have never used one...

Meanwhile the headline "Robot takes over mind-numbing job" is a welcome sight-but what'll I do for work?

Not a worry, though. We'll all have work running for our lives soon enough. Feel free to cue the Terminator music. New Robot Reproduces on Its Own

So of course the Oscars are all over the news - how could they not be? Is there anything more fascinating than the rich and spoiled gathered in mass? Now that I know the freebies that they get, well, it's just all the better. Did anyone catch the Inspiring Teacher Awards last night? Of course not. No one could get behind that.

Meanwhile, the Department of Justice is probing online music prices, and I am trying to restore my iTunes library for the fourth bleepin time...

The Washington Post is reporting that our Fearful Leader is pursuing journalists over "classified" leaks. Why shoot messengers when you can hunt them? Let's hope Cheney's out front.

Anyway, it's Monday.

OK, I know. It's not the most amazing thing, but you know what? Freedom means anything you want, you can get.

Some shakes with the CRA, those heavy handed do-gooders who want to make our lives better, even if it's at the cost of our homes and quality of life. The Los Angeles Times has even written an article about the strong arming of Hollywood/Vine. It's a project that has been in the works for at least three years, and no matter how many stealth community outreaches the development company makes, if they're not listening, they're not listening.

Now Eminent Domain has been offered to a private company. Sharpen the guillotines, boys.

Everybody loves pirates (Black Beard's ship), unless they happen to be auto manufacturers.

I was going to try to keep this politic free, but rankles me evertime I read about advancements in hybrid and alternate enenergy vehicles, that are consistently denied to us. In the name of profit, new technologies have been hidden for years... Now that there is a national interest, a compelling argument for the security of our energy supply and the impact on environment--arrrr. Arrr, I say.
